Summary
I began my career at INRIX as a Design Intern and quickly moved into a Junior Designer role, where I took end-to-end ownership of the core mobile experience. I played a key role in the ground-up redesign of the INRIX 5.0 mobile app, contributing to a high-profile launch that improved user sentiment and led to a patent for innovative navigation features. My responsibilities covered the full product lifecycle, from early concept pitches through to detailed production of global iconography and App Store assets, and the visual language I helped create still underpins INRIX apps today.
Outcome & Impact

App store rating increase after the redesign

The launch of INRIX 5.0 was a definitive success, reflected in our App Store rating rising to 4.3 and a notable increase in positive user reviews. Beyond the visual overhaul, my contributions supported a granted patent for route-based traffic visualization, giving the product a unique competitive edge in the navigation space. By creating a system that balanced complex real-time data with a polished visual language, I helped transform the app from a functional utility into a top-tier consumer experience used by millions worldwide.
INRIX 5.0 app
Under the direction of a new Creative Director, I played a key role in the comprehensive overhaul of the INRIX mobile platform. We redesigned every screen of the app to modernize the UI and streamline navigation. A standout element of this effort was the integration of a patented “traffic cameras along the route” feature, enabling users to see real-time road conditions directly on their route. The redesign drove the App Store rating up to 4.3 and earned recognition for effectively balancing rich, high-utility data with a clean and accessible visual experience.
Redesign
With the full app redesign underway, I had substantial creative latitude and focused on infusing the experience with motion and delight. I prototyped dozens of transition animations and micro-interactions, ultimately persuading my engineering partners to implement transitions across most of the hero screens. The radical redesign quickly gained traction with new users, and over time, existing INRIX users embraced it as well.
Iconography
I led a full redesign of the INRIX iconography system, replacing long-standing legacy assets with a modern, scalable symbol set. Because the app served a global audience, I conducted international testing to confirm that our navigation and traffic icons were culturally appropriate and immediately understandable across regions. The resulting system was robust enough to remain the company standard for years after my tenure, offering a consistent visual language that improved legibility and reduced cognitive load for drivers in high-stakes situations.
